I am an FA Level 2 and Youth Module 2 qualified coach from South East London. I played competitive football for a number of years with Crystal Palace Ladies FC and I currently represent the Queen Mary Women’s Football Club 1s. I was fortunate enough to co-captain the 1st team with Emily Sprake (U14s coach) and later ran a successful Girls Community Football program, delivering free football sessions across Tower Hamlets throughout the year with a group of qualified female community coaches from the Queen Mary Women’s Football Club. I gained all my coaching qualifications alongside my studies through my University’s fantastic Community Sport scheme, which enables students to take accredited coaching badges in a range of sports and volunteer in the community. In 2015 I was awarded Queen Mary’s Community Sport Volunteer of the Year, and both myself and Emily were nominated for Sportswoman of the Year for our commitment to developing girls’ football in the Borough. My core role this year with the U16s is to work closely with them on an individual level to develop and build on their personal strengths on the field.
I am currently writing up my PhD in Cultural Geography at Queen Mary University of London.
